I currently work as a limited-term Migrant Ed teacher and as a CTE Graphic Design teacher. I hold a single-subject art teaching credential with a Masters Degree in Education and specialize in best practices.
Previously, I attended Miami International University of Art and Design where I earned a bachelor's degree in graphic design. I gained experience working at an art gallery, magazine company and newspaper company before moving back to San Diego. I decided that my true calling was to empower students through art.
I consider myself a lifelong learner. My purpose in life is to continue learning and instill the same passion of learning to today's youth. I am motivated to instill this belief to whomever I encounter. I believe that the best method to instill a passion for learning is to first learn someone's personal interests.
Once I have knowledge of an individual's interests, it's a wrap! I am then able to create projects that have a connection with the students' passions. This is why it is so important for me to get to know individuals in a deeper level first. When I learn about someone's interests, it makes it easier to connect with them and tie it to the subject I am trying to teach. It's always fun to get to know someone and even more fun, to create exciting learning experiences for all.
