![]() Link of Day One: Art as Advocacy Lesson prezi.com/view/ebTByeC6a2azid5my8O0/ A. What did you learn? I learned that it is not enough to display the objective on the board. The teacher should encourage a student to read it out-loud and then have the students write in their journal to explain what is being asked of them. This in itself will let me know that they have a clear understanding of what the objective is and they understand where the lesson is headed and what is expected of them. I learned that one needs to consider the students before developing a lesson plan to ensure that it is high interest and students will be engaged throughout the entire lesson. B. What would you change? I would definitely consider keeping track of time with a timer that allows students to know how much time they have before they stop conversation during partner talk. I would make the lesson plan longer or add additional tasks in case students finish earlier than expected or need something more challenging. C. What did you enjoy? I enjoyed listening to student conversations when it came time to talk about issues going on in their communities. It informed me more about what they have to deal with in their daily life and how it can influence their life. I enjoyed walking around and seeing students brainstorm creative ways in which they can utilize art as a way to convey their message.
